Seven plus One

Prompt. from Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

If Cowpe is on your pathway, then seven plus one makes sense. The farm was the last property before reaching the moors. From here on mules and donkey’s were the only way to transport goods. Which meant stopping at the farm, for refreshments and hiring beasts, with one of the seven accompanying the animals. That was how I came to be acquainted with this family of poets. I would become a regular visitor. Well worn granite flagstones, set two feet below ground level. A roaring fire in winter, and ice cold water on hot summer days. Now Beauty and the Beast have become my companions… … …

[ I am sorry that I made only a few comments last week… I was off colour with a winter cold ]

  1. Dear Michael,

Sounds like an interesting place to be. Nicely done. The cold has been off-putting here, too. I’ve found myself bundling up with hot drinks to lose myself in old movies. 😉 Happy New Year.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  2. I’m not sure my original message sent…
I enjoyed the old feel. Life was much slower back then.
    Hope you’re feeling better.

  3. Lovely! And so sorry you were under the weather – right there with you, was felled by the flu a little bit ago.

  4. Nice one, Michael. I like the idea of walking on the moors. And it sounds like you had just what you needed in the winter and in the summer. I can understand why you became a regular visitor. Am happy that you’re better now.

    Happy New Year 🙂
