What to expect, that’s what I wonder as I approach Bradford University, I am arriving early for the roads are quiet. No problem parking then. Briefly I wonder if I have arrived on the wrong date, for there are so few students about. But no I am booked in, processed and my presence is recorded.
Visiting the universities library I ask myself should I smile or cry, for books of fiction seem to be fading and replaced by serious text books, for this university is now a fully fledged technology university. But hopefully those of us of an artistic bent, will still feel at home, for today, it’s the Party at the Amp. Whilst for another time there is always the Theatre in the Mill or Ramair. Now back to me, I have been well fed and watered so I am off to find the fun fair.
What’s the crack, free rides and ice cream, smiles and laughter abound as students party. So whether I would be spun in the air or shook by dodgems, it’s still a prelude to a night of music and fun. For many here their studies are over at least for this semester and so it’s party time. This alumni says thank you for the invite.
