Such a display of nourishment, I am so lucky. They call me a book worm, but knowledge was my aim. What if I take a nibble or two. Surely few do not like a tasty book. Enid Blyton and the Rev Awdry set me on this path. Devouring written subject matter was only a dream until my brain learned to make sense of those devious marks that teased my young brain so.
Now as age challenges the pleasure of being a book worm, I wonder, should I have turned to music or laid paint upon canvas, or built sand castles.

  1. A whimsical and well-written story, Michael. I have a friend in her 70’s like me who has started taking singing lessons. It’s never too late to learn something new. That’s a lovely church. 🙂 — Suzanne
