Dark Deeds

She seemed quite relaxed despite what Rex appeared to have done. Albert however found it hard to see how the mess could have been created by Rex, for despite what she was telling him, there was no evidence of canine teeth marks within any of the copious ribbons of paper. Albert smiled and offered to put the mess right.

That’s when he spotted the fleck of red, it was just the merest glint within her jet black hair. Albert at once cast his first spell, laying a protective aura around himself and Rex.

She handed him a pair of gloves and a bowl. The gloves attempted to bind his hands.

The battle was on. She wanted his future. It soon became apparent to him how old she really was. She must have stolen hundred and hundreds of life spans. Today however she had met her match. One by one Albert removed the stolen life’s. As he did, she aged, until all that was left was a pile of dust.

Footnote:
The germ of this story arrived as I was sat in one of my favourite cafes. I sketched a few note on the back of a old bank statement. Low and behold, with a bit of manipulation those note have become today’s flash fiction. Today my thanks are due to a local the street fiddler and his dancing witch. I am really glad that I dropped a some coins in his cap…

What did she steal from Albert? What was Albert recovering? Good that Rex the dog was spared from blame game.
