A Tea Shop Trilogy

It’s a brilliantly warm sunny day in York. I am on one of my usual tea shop trilogy’ with Stuart. I am sat in the old East Lodge toll house tucking into warm scones with cream and raspberry jam and a pot of tea.  Really nice. This ex toll house took payment from those wanting to cross the river Ouse via Lendal bridge. This is our third port of call today. We started at the old signal box at York station, a Costa coffee house. Then we moved on for lunch at the Slaughter House Tavern in the Shambles, we are always made to feel welcome at this hostelry. As usual we have been well looked after by the cafes, hostelry’s and gardens of York.
