A Moment in History

My roots go back into antiquity, the records tell of a mill standing here in 1276, but I was rebuilt in 1609 and then again in 1782. However I am going to tell you about a moment in 1941. At last I can tell you because the official secrets act of 1939 has finally been amended to allow it.
It was a lovely summers day, my wheel was running smoothly, the miller was happy, then the shouting started. That dreadful word that I last heard in 1782. Fire. Then silence took over and ruled my world. Until George arrived to rebuild me in 1962.
