It was going to be a difficult day

Inspector Johnson knew it was going to be a difficult day, her old nemesis Hutch had escaped from prison. He had fled the country and was now up to his old tricks in France.  Extortion and murder, those were his trade, and no doubt these days drug dealing.  She was on her way to meet Capitaine Travert, and first impressions always count. Damn the sheep, she was going to be late for the meeting. The day seemed jinxed, even the Eiffel Tower had been hidden by the rain. Then she had laddered her tights, as for the cravat. Damn Hutch.

  1. I loved the intrigue of this story, Mike. The sheep blockade came through well, too. I’m afraid I don’t know about “laddered tights and the cravat.” What does it mean?

Great story! Five out of five wool sweaters.

    1. Johnson’s does not like the police forces dress code, she would prefer trousers and as for the cravat it just irritates her. But I should have left the cravat out of the equation it was not needed.
