A Broken Dream.

I wondered where I had gone wrong as I lay back and tried to find some warmth. The bitter weather on this remote  island was eating at my bones. Once I had such power in my hands, how did I lose it.  My glorious dream had been destroyed. The weather had broken my plans, aided by one man with his boots who had out foxed me.

My thoughts turned to boat builders, had I not paid them enough? Had my fleet of barges been ready when I had needed them, had we commanded the oceans. Things might have been different. Viva France
