Fresh air invites, calling me out, offering sublime rewards, unfolding panorama’s await. Will I push the nights sleep away. My trainers wait ready. The sounds of the day drift over me, but I turn away. From a ribbed sky layered with grey, speaking of autumn.

They may be old, they have climb hills, protected me from cow pats. I see them and feel guilty.

Perhaps just a few more minutes, for my duvet offers warmth.

A wet nose prods me, nudging, coaxing, it’s time to rise, the day awaits. My four legged friend sits watching, my trainers at his feet.

    1. Spot on Rochelle. I did start off writing a experiment piece of fiction. Using the word – we – [contained at the start of groups of three words] what arrived was not quite right, so shelved it for the moment.

    1. I did start off writing a experiment piece of fiction. Using the word – we – [contained at the start of groups of three words] what arrived was not quite right, so shelved it… Now I am pleased that Robbie got a chance to appear in a story, he is a rather soft collie.

    1. I have a good friend who’s cat does the same but at 5am! At least Robbie waits till 10am to get me out of bed, I enjoyed your story about Hilda. Sadly I have many to whom I should apologise too

  1. What a lovely dog 🙂 My Labrador would never allow me a lie-in, and she’s so worth getting out of bed for. The thing about dogs is that they greet you each morning as if you’ve been gone for a year. They also have built in clocks. I love them, and wouldn’t be without them.

    1. Initially for the picture used for the story – We – I wrote a piece featuring blocks of three words, each block starting with We… We being a pair in my mind. [we are old, we feel loved, etc etc etc]. It did not work to my satisfaction. But I was so pleased that the picture encouraged me to try being creative.

As for Robbie he has adjusted to my time clock, up to very late, but also getting up really late. What throws him is when I reverse my routine. Poor old Robbie he is so good about it.
