Jerome only had eyes for the tower, so he missed the trunk parked in front of the arch. As he summersaulted over the trunk he caught a glimpse of two long and rather golden legs. Shaking his head he was about to swear, when he once again saw the same pair of legs. This time he followed them up; the boy in him took in the shortest of skirts, the tight fitting blouse and a wide smiling face, as a unknown girl reached out to help him up. The sculptor in him tried to rise to the occasion. ‘my name is Jerome, I’m new here, this place is impressive, so I thought; no I didn’t did I. For standing he saw the deep blue lanyard and then the name badge, Mrs Banks – Head of Visual Arts. Jerome felt like a dying gladiator, then he saw the merriment in her eyes. He was going to enjoy his time at university.

  1. Great take on the prompt Mike. It made me think of the Police Academy films and the Amazonian instructor who had the hots for a terrified trainee. I think Jerome would be pleased with that scenario.

  2. An enjoyable read, Michael. I think Mrs Banks is probably quite used to having new students falling at her feet – even if its not usually quite so literal!

    1. Many grand old buildings become schools or universities for a while. … I very much enjoyed reading ‘The Manson’, even though it had layers of sadness. I have commented here on ‘The Manson’as I do not seem able to comment on Blogger or Google

    2. In England many grand old buildings became either a school or university in the 1950/1970. I enjoyed reading ‘The Manson’ with its layers of sadness. …I have commented here as I find it differcult to comment on blogger or google at present. Mike
